Questions About Apple Health? Join a Free Community Panel on Medicaid Changes, Nov. 10

Federal changes to Medicaid are coming, and many people across Whatcom County are wondering what they will mean for their Apple Health coverage. On Tuesday, Nov. 10, you can hear directly from the state and local leaders working through those changes at a free public panel. Unity Care NW CEO, Bonnie Ross will be one of them.
Cascadia Daily News is hosting "Medicaid Cuts: What They Mean for Apple Health and Northwest Washington" at 5:30 p.m. at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal. The panel will walk through what is changing and when those changes take effect. Panelists will also share where to find reliable information and support, along with how Washington is responding to protect access to care in our region.
Who's on the panel
Cascadia Daily News health reporter Owen Racer will moderate the conversation with:

Trinity Wilson, Medicaid director at the Washington State Health Care Authority
Scott Ryckman, EMS division chief for the Bellingham Fire Department and Whatcom County Fire District 8
Bonnie Ross, CEO of Unity Care NW
Why we're part of this conversation
As a community health center, Unity Care NW cares for many neighbors who rely on Apple Health to see a medical or behavioral health provider, fill a prescription or visit the dentist. When the rules around that coverage shift, our job is to help our patients keep the care they count on. Bonnie will bring that perspective to the panel, speaking to what these changes could mean for patients and for the health centers that serve them.
Who should attend
The discussion is meant for Apple Health members, health care providers and community members who want to understand how the changes could affect them and the region's health care system. You don't need any background in health policy. Bring your questions.
